As we continue to enhance our breeding program, we have made minor adjustments based on our experience, the preferences of adoptive families, and valuable feedback from past puppy families. Additionally, our firsthand experiences with the unpredictability of Mother Nature have led us to refine our approach to planning. Our goal is to minimize disappointment for families when plans change beyond our control. Below, we outline our updated method for adopting one of our puppies.

Step 1: Get on the waitlist

Use the Join the Waitlist button to share your contact information with us. Once we have “pups on the ground” from a litter, we will begin to reach out to the waitlist names, in the order that their information was received. Potential puppy parents will be sent our custom application so we can learn a little more about you and your family! We will review your answers (please note, this process may take up to one week depending on how busy we are at time of submission) and once we have approved your application, a $500 non-refundable deposit must be paid, we allow 72 hours for the deposit to be submitted once an application is approved. Submitting the puppy application form does not reserve a puppy. The puppy application will be sent to you as a Google Application via email.

All deposits are a part of the puppy purchase price. Our puppies are $2,400. After the full deposit is submitted, we will keep you posted on what they are learning and share photos so that you can watch them grow!

Step 2: Puppy Selection

Puppy selection will take place on the day they go home. We receive veterinary clearance to send puppies home based on their health and development after birth. Each family will have a scheduled time on going-home day to select their puppy, following the order on the master list. If a family cannot attend at their assigned time—which is communicated a few days after the puppies are born—they will forfeit their place in line and be moved to the bottom of the pick list for that specific litter. Families will have one hour to select their puppy and to review the paperwork and address any questions. Going-home day is typically scheduled on a Friday or Saturday, and the exact date will be shared within a few days after the puppies’ arrival to allow for planning.

We appreciate your understanding of our structured process. This approach has worked well, ensuring an organized, enjoyable, and smooth experience while respecting everyone's time.

Our policy:

Once puppies have been born, we will accept no visitors until they have received their first vaccinations and have been checked by our vet. We love to meet with clients and show off our dogs but raising puppies and taking care of our adult dogs is a busy job!

What’s included:

• Limited registration with the AKC

• Genetic and OFA certifications of the Dam and Sire

• One vet check (6-7 weeks), first vaccine(s), and two rounds of deworming

• Veterinarian verification and vaccination record

• Health Guarantee (see details below)

• Phone support if needed after going home

Deposits:

All deposits are $500 and are non-refundable but transferable to another litter with advance notice (prior to puppies reaching 5 weeks of age). We will hold your reservation for three (3) days to get your deposit to us. Picking order is based on deposit order. We accept cash, checks, Venmo or Zelle for deposits and payments. The balance of your puppy is due by 7 weeks of age, no puppy shall leave our care until paid in full. Thank you for understanding!

Pricing:

In 2026, our puppies are $2,400.

*All puppies come with AKC Limited Registration. Full registration is only approved at Golden Acres’ breeders discretion and can be denied for any reason. 

*We reserve the right to refund your deposit at anytime should we feel our puppy is not the best fit for your family.
